Hurricane Supplies Song

Chorus
Here’s what to buy for your hurricane supplies
Put it in a plastic container
Don’t wait till it’s too late do it now for heaven’s sake
When the hurricane comes you’ll be safer

Flashlights, radios, extra batteries, rain gear and generator
Garbage bags, matches, paper plates and napkins and don’t forget the toilet paper
Fire extinguisher, a rabbit ear antenna and a lantern that runs on battery
2 weeks of food - dry or in a can like cereal, soup or spaghetti

(chorus)

Peanut butter and jelly, crackers and bread, canned chicken, beef, tuna or potatoes
Coffee and tea and cookies if you please and some wine or beer for later
A big ice chest, jugs and containers and plenty of ice and water
You can fill up the tub - dry ice is nice and it’ll last you a week or longer

(Chorus)

Now fill up your tank and get some gas cans you’ll need ‘em for your generator
Have a first aid kit and plenty of cash and a place for important papers
Mosquito repellent, a bag of tools and a chainsaw comes in handy
Get a portable John and a surge protector or a battery powered TV

(chorus)

Make a list of phone numbers, get a map of the town and a copy of your insurance policy
A manual can opener and a bag of tools will be handy on your hurricane odyssey
A couple more things like plastic sheeting, duct tape, gloves and some rope
Don’t forget your medications and have a lot of patience so you can help your family cope

(chorus)
